St Brigid / Brigid of Kildare Celebration

I am honoured to be performing at this inaugural cultural event to celebrate St Brigid’s Day presented by brilliant York Irish Association on Saturday 31st January 2026 from 2pm in the great venue that is Clements Hall.

The event will feature a narration of the story of St Brigid’s life, spoken word, poetry, readings, recitations, Irish dance, workshop on the making of St Brigid’s cross, childrens activities as well as original and traditional music and song from myself and an array of super talented musicians and singers including Sharon Maher, Olivia Graham, Gráinne Hillery, Declan Prior, Kevin Gallagher, Mary & Chris Euesden

Delighted to be playing this fab festival which is Wakefield’s celebration of its most famous vegetable, the Rhubarb Festival, returns to paint the city pink for three days from 20-22 February 2026. Harrogate U3A Gig

Delighted to be doing a concert for the dynamic Harrogate U3A group as one of their vibrant live music events.

U3A is a nationwide network of learning groups aimed at encouraging older people to share their knowledge, skills and interests in a friendly environment. Harrogate u3a is a group run by members for its members. Their aim is to draw talent and experience of all members to provide opportunities for people no longer in full-time work to take part in all sorts of different activities and learning opportunities.

Harrogate U3A currently has around 900 members and about 64 groups. These range from bridge to walking, from badminton to wine appreciation, from country dancing to poetry with all sorts in between! They are always keen for new groups to open.

There are also monthly Open Meetings with a range of different speakers, coffee mornings and other social events which hope to give members a chance to meet together and to become involved with what is going on locally.

What a joy and a privilege to be MCing and doing a small support slot at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Club of the Year 2009 – the Black Swan Folk Club for Bob Fox one of the most iconic voices of British Folk Song.  Bob is one of the most highly rated singer/guitarists.  Masterful interpretation of  traditional and contemporary song combined with outstanding guitar technique that drives and embellishes his supreme singing.  So looking forward to this.

• Supports people with Parkinson’s – and their family and friends

• Offers friendship and a meeting point

• Offers a range of classes and activities for fun andtherapy.

We help to change attitudes too. Our branch raises public awareness of Parkinson’s through:

• Fundraising events

• Liaison with NHS and other organisations.

Our fundraising allows us to host a range of classes and events for our members. And it contributes to

City Of York Folk Festival Weekend

How fantastic to be invited to be part of the wonderful evening of music, song, stories, laughter, history and community as part of Culture Night at Ballyneety Courthouse alongside the brilliant Drombanna Singers, great Tune Weavers, superb Seanchaí, fascinating historical talk about the area in 1911 and so many very talented singers and musicians. Absolutely blown away by the overwhelming audience reaction to my original songs.

Culture Night is an amazing nationwide annual festival of arts and culture across Ireland featuring over 1,800 events acoss the country designed to make culture accessible to everyone. It celebrates the richness and diversity of culture in Ireland connecting people to various cultural activities locally and nationally.
